Session Description
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet and are the perfect framework for incorporating global competence in curriculum and lesson plans. In this fast-paced idea session, teachers will build their own competence as they determine which SDGs are meaningfully connected to their instruction, explore the intersection of the Global Goals and global competence, and collaborate to integrate the Global Goals across grade levels and subjects.
What will educators learn and be able to do at the end of the session?
Understand the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and why they are important. Understand how to use open and accessible resources, lessons plans, and global projects directly aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals to integrate the SDGs and build global competence into their teaching.
