I grew up at the perfect time for me, when computers were coming into homes and electronic toys were abound. Always interested in what makes things go, my parents quickly learned it was just better to let me put my presents together, than crudely attempt themselves.  The technology gene skipped their generation, so I was left to explore, and quickly found a path to computers.  When I was in high school, here at John Handley High, I took all the technology courses that were available.  I continued my computer learning at Virginia Tech college, and after graduating, I went to work for them doing computer support for the campus. I moved back and continued with computer support in the local area for the next 10 years, improving my skills all the way up to Level 3 Server Technician. And as Manager, I was in charge of the networks, and Cyber Security defenses, for all 1000+ clients. This past year, I was persuaded into becoming a teacher by a very sneaky man, and am so glad I did.  Even though it's my first year ever teaching, having never even taking a teaching class before, I found it to be a wonderful experience to pass along my technology knowledge to the students, and teachers alike.  And now I'm here to do the same for iEARN participants!"unite
